An enchanting garden under nature conservation
A golden piece of paradise
Haardtrand-Am Goldberg, that's the name of the garden, and actually, the name says it all. The 6,000 m2 nature reserve is immersed in a soft gold by the sinking sun in the evening hours.
It is enchanting even though it shared the fate of Sleeping Beauty for many years. Completely overgrown by vines and climbing plants, its beauty was hardly recognizable. In close collaboration with the nature conservation agency and in compliance with all regulations, it was possible to coax the old splendor from this unique piece of land with love, care, and patience, since nature follows its own schedule and will not be rushed. The terraces were cleared and shrubs, flowers, and almond trees were awakened from their deep, bramble-covered sleep.
The beauty of pure nature
It will still take a little longer until the original cultivated landscape shows its full splendor, but when it does, it will be a garden of Eden. Old fruit trees in the region will bear apricots, plums, apples, and pears. Everything grows here: black and red currants, blackberries, grapes, and nuts such as sweet chestnuts and almonds. Of course not just fruits and nuts grow here but also vegetables and herbs like tomato varieties, chili, parsley, sage, rosemary, oregano, basil, laurel, lavender, marjoram, thyme, mint, lemon balm, and the curry plant. As a guest at the Burggarten Appartements, you are basically sitting right at Mother Nature's table, and you are invited to enjoy the fruits of the Haardtrand-Am Goldberg.
Even though it is our garden, we are also a guest in this nature reserve. Between the beginning of March and the end of October, many wild animals nest and breed here, and they shouldn't be disturbed. We therefore ask for consideration towards the animals and regulating authorities. You are not allowed to stay on the terrace right under the house or on the old, natural stone terrace. Seating may be placed here only temporarily. Please return your seats after your visit to the terrace. We thank you for your understanding, and we are sure that the animals thank you too!
